Scraps

these cuties are super fast. and i finally get to use the hair clip and brooch pins that i got while ordering cotton batting from MayMayshop. as well as glue gun.... they will adorn my table full of old books of fiction that i'm letting go at RM2 at my office's jumble sale today and tomorrow. no craft item for sale because:
- i need to clear the book to make space for the fabbies....
- for now craft/sewing is more for fun...
updated at 03:10pm:
*i wore the beige one and the pink and yellow were grabbed by a customer quite fast... 66% of success rate, i might say... haha

Remember me?

I read this in two sessions; few hours before my Internet exam last night and right after I woke up very early this morning. I was intrigued when I read the excerpt chapter and want to read the whole novel i-m-m-e-d-i-a-t-e-l-y. So when I stopped by the mall to pay broadband band bill to ensure no interuption during the exam and found out Po**** bookstore has sale... I thanked my lucky star. It was supposed to be funny and endearing but I found it predictable and boring...

can you keep a secret?

  1. I cannot believe i shed a few tears while reading this novel.
  2. Not once I compared the hero to the-one-who-were-not-meant-to-be like I usuallyy do.
  3. I prefer this novel to the previous one. I mean the novel not the text book.
  4. I read it in one go after Subuh solat and missed breakfast.
  5. This is my first novel I read from the same author.
  6. Is this going to make me wanted to read her most popular novel? No. Maybe her latest.
  7. I recommend this novel to any girl after 2nd review with her thesis supervisor who in dire need of fun, fluffy escape.

Diversion or in denial... whatever.

April is nearly over and I don't want it to pass without writing any entry. My last exam would fall on this Saturday, however the toll of presentations, post module assignment, report and final exams, and not forgetting my work (that pay my house, car and everything I own) have affected me; pimply forehead and expanding thigh :(

I'm supposed to be reading Performance Measurement & Control System for Implementing Strategy for exam this Saturday, but like any good student I need diversion. I am currently reading the Time Traveller’s Wife as well , hehe... Well, I didn't get the chance to watch the movie when it came out in the cinema.
In sewing related news, I managed to draft and sew a tiered skirt. I'm not happy with the fitting but will try to modify the pattern next time.

After the New Moon

Since I can't find Stephenie Meyer's third book anywhere at the bookstores, I took a chance of buying her first adult fiction. It's not about vampire but aliens... Humans become hosts for these alien invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. I am ambivalent about body snatching movies where the bodies became violence and zombie-like. However I'm sold to the idea of humans are stronger to resist total invasion of these aliens that taking over the body.
INMHO the book is refreshing, well-engaging and emotionaly provocative. The book is told from the point of view of the invading soul the Wanderer which was warned about the challenges of living inside a human. "She" faced the overwhelming emotions, senses, and vivid memories of the human. I've finished reading it last week but it is still in my mind that I have to review it.

RM5 for a novel

I went to Caxx4 MV to buy groceries to make my favourite snack; blended veggie soup and found these in the sale bin. I've bought books from the authors before and was glad to find their books on sale.

I'm currently reading this before going to sleep although I'm supposed to be concentrating on my final beginning this Saturday... :P When I took this picture this morning I noticed the embroidery practice I made on the pillowcases. Hmmm..
